Ladies @ Play 2015
In November 2015, we held our very first “Ladies @ Play” fundraising lunch at The Jetty Oxford, Bulimba. It was a huge success. We were so lucky to have Georgia Barnes (Master Chef Australia 2015 Runner up) and Kerrie Hess (Fashion Illustrator) as our guest speakers for the Event. The day was a huge success, thanks to Christie Leppitsch who was our MC, and to the lovely staff at The Jetty. We shared in the delights of wonderful food and wine, raffles, lucky door prizes and amazing auctions donated by Georgia and Kerrie. Thank you to all who attended. Stay tuned for Ladies @ Play 2016!
The World’s Most Expensive Donut
In October 2015, to celebrate the launch of their very first café, Nodo donuts auctioned off the “world’s most expensive donut”, with all proceeds going Child’s Play Qld. It was very exciting auction, and we were very privileged to be asked to be the recipients of the auction. The auction raised $10,600 for this very delicious donut!!!
Tough Mudder
In September 2015, team of 17 people got muddy for the children and families of Child’s Play Qld. The team completed 22 kilometres and 20 obstacles in over 5 hours. It was a very challenging day, but one that was extremely personally satisfying to all who participated. We were lucky enough to have some very generous corporate sponsors for the event, namely; Ray White East Brisbane, The Jetty Oxford, GRT Lawyers, Paeds in a Pod, and collectively, we raised $17,000 towards our expansion and growth at Child’s Play Qld.
Blane’s Kayak Marathon
In December 2015, Blane Delbridge decided to undertake an amazing personal challenge. He kayaked 327 kilometres down the Murry River, over 4 days straight. This was a huge feat for someone that had only just begun training in October! We were so personally touched by the generosity of spirit, and dedication to the cause from Blane. Blane with the help of the team at Peak Sports and Spine raise over $6500 for Child’s Play Qld.
