Service Fees

If you would like to discuss your child’s counselling needs, we are more than happy to talk through the options available to you. We can schedule a “Parent Intake Session” for you to attend, on your own without you child, so that you can familiarise yourself with the counselling space and activities that would be offered to your child, as well as meeting your child’s therapist. During this discussion, we can talk through the issues affecting your family, and decide on the best counselling plan for your child/ren. We can also discuss our service fees with you during this session.

All fees are payable at the time of consultation via cash, or EFTPOS. If you which to make a direct debit, you will need to arrange this prior to the counselling session.

Medicare Rebates

Child’s Play Qld provides counselling under the Medicare Better Access Program for clients. If you have been referred by your GP (under a Mental Health Treatment Plan), paediatrician, or psychiatrist you will be eligible for a rebate through Medicare.

Clients are entitled to a total of 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year, however your suitability for this needs to be discussed with your referring doctor.

Private Health Insurance Claims

Alternatively, you may wish to claim a rebate through your private health insurance.

Please check eligibility for psychology services with your health insurance provider prior to attending your first appointment.

Financial Assistance

Child’s Play Qld is a privately funded Australian Registered Charity. We hold fundraising events throughout the year, in order to raise funds to assist with offering families reduced rate sessions. If you would like to apply for financial assistance for your therapy needs, please contact us to discuss your suitability.
